A native of Watauga County, NC she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion and Fannie Caroline Woodring. She came to Elizabethton in 1941 and was a member of the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Stanbery had worked in the Carter County Schools as a cook for eighteen years prior to her illness. Survivors include her husband, Carl McKinley Stanbery of the home. Three sons, Boyd, Howard and Hubert Stanbery; a sister, Mrs. Howard Cullers of Boone, NC; two brothers, Frank Carl Woodring and Clint Woodring of Elizabethton; two half brothers, Fred Miller, Quinwood, WV; Don Woodring, Bristol, VA. Funeral services for Mrs. Stanbery will be held at the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Burl Garland and Rev Glen Smith officiating. Mrs. Stanbery was buried at the Happy Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Elizabethton. Tetrick Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Additional Comments: Mrs. Stanbery was later relocated and buried at the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Butler, Tennessee.
