Dec. 31, 1874 To any Ordained Minister of any Religious Denomination or any Justice of the Peace of said County: Milas Kellar having applied to me for a LICENSE for the Marriage of himself of Watauga County, aged 23 years, color white, the son of James W. Kellar and ______ Kellar the father now living, the mother dead, resident of Caldwell County And Mary Barlow of Watauga County, aged 18 1/2 years, color white, daughter of Calvin Barlow and Rittie Barlow the father living the mother living, resident of Watauga County. And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, you are hereby authorized, at any time within one year from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within the said County. His descendants spell his name as "Milas Keller." Mary Barlow's full given name was Mary Demorious Barlow. She was known as Demorious. Other known variations of the spelling of her name are: Demaurice and Demarres. I am very grateful to my cousin, H. Wayne Dunn, for sharing his information about the Keller family with me. He provided the date and location of the marriage of Milas Keller and Mary Demorious Barlow, and I obtained a copy of the official record. Wayne is a great grandson of the Kellers and I am a great great niece. Both Wayne and I are great great grandchildren of Calvin and Ritta (Rittie) Barlow, parents of Mary Demorious Barlow.
