Wayne County, NC - Dr. Andrew Bass, 1740-1790 Bass, Andrew (Dr.), b. ca. 1740 Wales, Eng., d. ca. 1790 Dobbs Co., NC, m. Ann Service: Dr. Andrew Bass and wife settled in North Carolina before the Revolutionary War. Dr. Bass was one of the men elected to a Provisional Congress which appointed a committee to prepare a civil constitution for the state of N.C. He attended the Congress who organized a civil Government of North Carolina. Dr. Bass was a Whig, member of the NC Militia, sometimes fighting, sometime running and sometimes doctoring the sick and wounded. Children: Anna Bass, b. 1777, m. 10 April 1793 Gen.
