Died on Tuesday the 10th Inst at the Residence of her husband, in Stantonsburg Edgecombe County, Mary, wife of the Revd Wm Robinson in the 31st year of her age. The decd was a Native of Aughadocy, County Londonderry, Ireland, and in youth was the delight of not only a fond father but also of all who know her. To see her is as but to admire her, accomplished in everything that was calculated to render her useful to herself and to society, she early imbibed a spirit of deep toned piety which tends so powerfully to soften the affections and never fails to add new lustre to every grace. She and the writer became united in wedlock on the 12th of March 1832. Ah! what joyous hearts were there. Yes full of hopes that our joys would never come to a termination. Ah, youth how vain!! Shortly after our marriage we emigrated for this Country where we expected to crown our felicity. She was then a member of the good old Presbyterian Church, whilst I myself was an Espiscopalian. Often have I persuaded her to Renounce her religion and embrace mine, but she was too firmly persuaded in her own mind to be changed by all my arguements. We, however, both inclined to be religious, agreed to differ. Till at last we under the providence of God arrived in North Carolina in 1839. The deceased was a native of the County of Londonderry, Ireland and emigrated to this Country in Compnay with her husband in 1832. From youth she seemed to possess a heart inclined to love and serve the Lord. She possessed many laudable qualities and virtures which adorn the female sex. She participated in a preeminent degree the love and attachment of all, with whom in her travels, whe claimed to become acquanted. To know her was to love her. In all her intercourse with the world she ever breathed the accents of kindness. She was raised a member of the presbyterian church, but about four years ago, choosing to serve God according to the dictates of her own Conscience, she became a member of the Baptist Church since which time, the whole tenor of her life, characterized her as an unfeigned flower Christ, and what, we trust, might emphatically be called a Christian. For a few days previous to her death such was violence of her disease that it deprived her of all reason. She seemed insensible to the pain which was suffering. She spake not nor did she utter a groan until when her race was entirely run she resigned her spirit to the God who gave it. ________________________________________________________________________ Our Sorrows.
