His eldest son William had raised a family before his youngest William Alexander was borne him by his fourth wife. This William died in 1904 which was 151 years after the birth of his father. William III and his brother Needham served in the Revolution and helped destroy Tories in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge, Feb 27 1776.
