Mary Smith v. Burwell Edmundson
Wayne County Court of Pleas & Quater Sessions
August Court 1847 - page 350

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that the child of Mary Smith has 
been born & by the admission of the deft Burwell Edmundson that he is the 
father thereof, the court doth order and adjudge that he enter into bond with 
sureties as required by law, and it is further ordered & adjudged by the court 
that Burwell Edmundson pay into this court for to with to the use of said Mary 
Smith ten dollars for her living in month & twelve annually for each year 
hereafter for seven successive years for the support of the bastard child & 
that he pay the costs of these proceedings.
