James Everitt Estate, 1848

State of North Carolina Wayne County
To the worshipful the Justices of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions 
February Term 1848. We the undersigned Commissioners appointed by the Superior 
Court of your Term Nov’r 1847 having been legally summoned and sworn by Ollen 
Coor Sheriff of said County proceeded on the 6, 7 and 8th day of December 1847 
to divide and make partition between and among Matthew Everitt, Sally Smith, 
Nancy Everitt, James Everitt, Ann Everitt, Joseph Everitt and Robert Everitt 
tenants in common of the lands descended to them as children and heirs at law of 
their father James Everitt dec’d.

Thereupon we have made and do hereby make the following appropriations among the 
several claimants in severalty Viz 

Lot 1 to Sally Smith 168 acres valued at $1000.

Lot 2 to James Everitt 216 acres valued at $1000.

Lot 3 to Ann Everitt 250 acres valued at $1000.

Lot 4 to Joseph Everitt 216 acres valued at $1000.

Lot 5 to Matthew Everitt 243 ½ acres valued at 900.

Lot 6 to Nancy Everitt 300 acres valued at $750.

Lot 7 to Robert Everitt 300 cares valued at $750.

All of which is respectfully submitted under our hands and seals this 1st day of 
Jany 1848.
