Wayne County, NC – Wayne County State Guards - Act to Incorporate ~~~~~~~~~~ 1830-32, Chapter LXXIX - An Act to incorporate the Wayne County State Guards. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the company of dragoons, in the county of Wayne, commanded by Samuel A. Andrews, is hereby incorporated under the name of "The Wayne State Guards." II. Be it further enacted, That "the Wayne State Guards" shall have power to adopt such bye-laws for the government of the company, not inconsistent with the laws of the State and of the United States, as they or a majority of them may deem proper; and all fines, penalties and forfeitures incurred in pursuance of such bye-laws, shall be recovered in the same manner as militia fines are now recovered in this State, and when so recovered, shall be applied to the use and benefit of the company for military purposes.
