Materials September the 25th 1816 Sir I was much Disapointed on the 22nd Instant by Reason of the Rain I Could not get to the meeting as I proposed______________ However Inclosed you will find all the names of the persons for each County who are yet unpaid with the amount Due each person oposit his name purchase none but what names I send you all the Rest are paid the list of names and price Due is to Govern you in your purchase of the Claims, the Only was is to purchase them Immediately a Power of attorney you will find also on the Back part of the same paper Make your Collection as soon as possable and I will have the money Ready for you I am Senceer Respects your Most Obt &c Capt Isaac Taylor Roberts Know all men by these presence that J A B of Lenoir County and State of No Carolina doth Constitute and apoint Capt. Taylor of said County my True and lawful attorney for me and in my name to ask for Demand and Receive of John Roberts PM of the North Carolina Militia all the monys which are Due me for my Services as a Soldier under the Command of Capt Byrd in the year 1813.
