WILLIAM E. BARDIN To WILLIAM H. HOLMES-DEED 1843	

WAYNE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA   Book19 Page 202

This indenture made the third day of March in the year of our Lord  
1842 between William E. BARDIN of the state of Mississippi and County  
of Pontotoc on the first part and William H. HOLMES of the State of  
No. Carolina & County of Wayne of the second part. Witness therefore  
and inconsideration of the sum of three hundred fifty dollars to me  
in hand paid by the said William H. HOLMES before the signing sealing  
delivering of these presents the receipt and payment of which I  
hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold conveyed and delivered  
unto him the said William H. HOLMES one certain piece or parcel of  
land which was drawn by me in the division of Father’s land situated  
lying and being in the aforesaid County of Wayne amd State of No.  
Carolina and bounded as follows _, beginning at the S.E. corner _ in  
Susan Hamilltons line thence West to the run of the Burnt Swarmp  
thence down the run of said swamp to Jacob Hooks corner thence East  
with Jacob Hooks line to the corner in John Hook’s line thence South  
with Jacobs Hooks and Susan Hamiltons line to the beginning  
containing one hundred forty thrree acres more of less. To have and  
to hold the above named land and premises with all the appurtenances  
thereto belonging and I the said William E. BARDIN  for myself and my  
heirs Executors Adm,’rs and assign warrants and forever defend the  
rights title and interest of the above mentioned lands and premises  
to him the said William H. HOLMES to have and his heirs forever.  In  
witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above  
mentioned.

This was the above deed of sale from Wlm E. BARDIN to W.H. HOLMES  
duly proved in open court by the oath of Godfrey Stancile a  
subscribing witness & ordered to be registered.
