Jno. E. Becton to Thomas W. Pridgen

Wayne County Deed Book 21, p 71

This Indenture made this the 15th day of March in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and forty eight between Jno. E. Becton of the State of 
North Carolina and the county of Wayne of the one part and Thomas W. Pridgen of 
the same state and county aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in 
consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said 
Thos. W. Pridgen the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged have 
granted sold bargained and delivered unto the said Thos. W. Pridgen one acre of 
land in the Village of Everittsville known in the plan of said Village as number 
16 sixteen to have and to hold the aforesaid land together with all and singular 
the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Thomas W. 
Pridgen his heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and affixed my seal day and date above written.

Wayne County May Term 1848
Then was the above deed of sale from Jno. E. Becton to Thos. W. Pridgen duly 
proved in open court by the oath of Wm. Hollowell a subscribing witness and 
ordered to be registered.
