     This indenture made & entered into this the 22nd day of November
A.D. 1867, between HENRY H. BEST & wife MARTHA C. of the one part and 
JEMIMA HANDLEY wife of JAMES HANDLEY of the other part Witnesseth, that 
for & in consideration of the sum of three thou-sand dollars in hand 
paid to the said HENRY H. BEST & wife MARTHA C. by the said JEMIMA 
HANDLEY, the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath 
bargained, sold & conveyed, and by this doth bargain, sell & convey 
unto the said JEMIMA HANDLEY, her heirs assigns, executors or 
administrators a certain piece or tract of land, lying being & situate 
in the County aforesaid, described as follows. (Gives description, 
mentions John Wooten's line, Bright Best' corner, Savanah, Ann Best, 
now Ann Bizzel's corner.) Contains Five Hundred and Twenty One (521) 
acres, being the same set apart to MARTHA C. BEST in the division of 
the lands of her father KINCHEN E. BEST, known as Lot No 2 in the 
division of the lands of the said KINCHEN E. BEST. And the said HENRY 
H. BEST & wife MARTHA C., for themselves their heirs & assigns doth 
covinanh (sic) with the said JEMIMA HANDLEY, her heirs & assigns, that 
they are seized of the lands herein conveyed in fee simple, and hath 
full right now to convey the same in fee simple, that they will make 
further assurance therefor if necessary, & will warrant & defend the 
title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons. In testimony 
whereof the said HENRY H. BEST and wife MARTHA C. and the said JAMES 
HANDLEY in token of his assent have hereunto set their hands & seal, 
the day and year first above written.
