William D. Cobb to William J. Hall
Lots 28 & 29
Wayne County Deed Book 25, p 190-191

This Indenture made this the 13th day of January in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and fifty five between Wm D. Cobb of the county of Wayne 
and State of North Carolina of the one part and Wm J. Hall of the same state and 
county of the other part Witnesseth that the said Wm D. Cobb for and in 
consideration of the sum of five thousand (sic) dollars to him in hand paid or 
otherwise well secured by the said Wm J. Hall at and before the executing of 
these presents hath given and granted bargained sold and confirmed and by these 
presents doth give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Wm J. Hall his 
heirs and assigns forever all of two certain lots or parcels of land situate 
lying and being in the Village of Everittsville in the county and state aforesaid 
being known and described in the plan of said village as lots number 28 and 29 
and containing in all two acres of land. Also two acres situate lying and being 
in the county and state aforesaid lying on the south side of said village and 
opposite the above lots beginning at a stake opposite the south east corner of 
said lots and runs south one acre deep then west two acres deep then north to the 
street then to the beginning. To have and to hold the said lots and land and 
premises with all and singular the appurtenances and improvements thereunto 
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Wm J. Hall his heirs and 
assigns to his and their own proper use and behoof in fee simple forever free and 
discharged from the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever. And 
the said Wm D. Cobb for himself his heirs and assigns further covenants to and 
with the said Wm J. Hall his heirs and assigns that he is at the time of 
executing these presents seized and possessed of a good sure indefeasible estate 
of inheritance in and to the said land and premises and that he hath full power 
and lawful authority to convey the same in manner and form aforesaid. In witness 
whereof the said Wm D. Cobb doth hereunto set his hand and affix his seal the 
date first above written.

Then was the foregoing deed of sale from William D. Cobb to Wm J. Hall duly
