1835 Barnabas Rose to Lazarus Cook Deed
Wayne County, N.C.

This Indenture made the 29th of July one thousand Eight hundred and thirty
five between Barna. Rose of the State of No. Carolina and county
of Wayne of the one part and Lazarus Cook of the same place
of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of
thirty Dollars to me in hand paid by the sd. Lazarus Cook at or before
the sealing and delivering hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby ak-
nolige myself therewith satisfied contented and paid have barga-
ined sold and conveyed and confirmed unto him the sd. Lazarus
Cook his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of
Land lying in the county and state aforesaid on the North side
of Black creek and on the west side of the Cabbin Branch
buted and Bound as follows begining at a Maple Thomas
Tomlinson corner in Cooks line thence Cooks line to an agreed
corner thence nearly west a dividing line to a Stake in Luke
Woodards line thence south to a post oak in Scotts line thence
nearly East to a branch thence down said Branch to the begin-
ing containing twenty two acres be the same more or less
to have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises together with
and all and singular the profits privileges and benefits appur-
tenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him
the said Lazarus Cook his heirs and assigns forever free and clear
from all incumbrances whatever and I the said Barney Rose
doth covenant promise and agree to Bind myself my heirs Excr.
and admn. and assigns to warrant and forever defend the above
Mentioned land and premises from or against the lawful claims
of any maner of persons what ever unto him the said Lazarus
Cook his heirs Executors admn. and assigns forever in witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and
year first above written.

Then was the above Deed of Sale from Barnabas Rose to
Lazarus Cook duly proved in open court by the oath of
Matthew Cook a subscribing witness let it be registered
