Wayne County, NC - Robert Denning to George Denning, 1797 Know all men by those presents that I Robert Denning of the County of Wayne planter for and inconsideration of the sum of twenty pounds Specie to me in hand paid by George Denning of the County aforsd planter receipt whereof every part and parcel there of his hereby fully acknowleged hath granted bargained and sold and by those presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said George Denning his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of or parcel of land situated ling and being in the County of Wayne containing ten acres more or less on the North side of Black Branch including the improvements whereon George Denning now lives, beginning at a water oak and runs No 20 poles, thence Wt 40 poles to a pine thence So 20 poles to a water oak, thence to the beginning. It being a tract of land granted to Robert Denning by pattant bearing date the 1779 -- day 1796 to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said George Denning his Heirs assigns forever to the only proper use and behofe of him the said George Denning is heirs and asigns forever and the sd Robert Denning for himself his heirs and executors do the herby covenant promise and give to and with the sd George Denning his heirs and assigns the sd tract or parcel of land or premises forever warrant and defend against the right titles claims and Demands of all and all manner person whatsoever, In witness whereunto with I have set my hand affixed seal this 26 day of September in the year of our lord 1796.
