Wayne County, NC - Drucilla & Louisa Rhodes Deed to John Wright Rose Wayne County, NCC Register of Deeds Bk 78, pg 66 STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, } WAYNE COUNTY. } This Deed, Made this 11th day of Decr, 1899, by Drucilla Rhodes and Louisa Rhodes of Wayne County, State of North Carolina, to John W. Rose of Wayne County, State of North Carolina: Witnesseth, That said Drucilla and Louisa Rhodes in consideration of six hundred & fifty Dollars to them paid by John W. Rose the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said John W. Rose and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, 3 tracts or parcels of land in Wayne County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of (blank) and others, bounded as follows, viz: Being lots No. 2, 3 and 4 in the division of the lands of Ingram Rhodes, deceased as recorded in Liber 38, page 85 of the records of the Register's Office of Wayne County and therein fully described by metes and bounds which description metes and bounds are here referred to & made part of this conveyance. Said lots containing respectively 37 1/2, 34 and 27 1/2 acres each. Lots No. 2 & 4 in said division were drawn by said Louisa Rhodes & Drucilla Rhodes, and Lot No 3 was purchased by Louisa Rhodes from J.F. Grantham Adm of Sarah E. Rhodes, by deed and duly recorded as above in Book No. 66, page 122, to which record reference is here made. To Have and to Hold the aforesaid tracts of land and all priviledges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said John W. Rose and his heirs and assigns, to their only use and behalf: And the said Durcilla Rhodes & Louisa Rhodes covenant that they are seized of said premisis in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee-simple; that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. Burch do hereby certify that Louisa Rhodes and Druzilla Rhodes personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed, and the said (blank) being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear of her said husband, or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
