Probert Collier and wife Fannie Collier of Wayne County, NC; George W. and 
Bessie Collier of Randolph County, NC and Caroline E. Collier of Wayne 
County, NC of the first part and Jasper Monroe Potts of Wayne County, NC of 
the second part. For $1,200, land in Wayne County, NC adjoining the lands of 
Newman Potts [Jasper's father], John H. Edwards and others bounded as 
follows:

Beginning where Marshy Branch crosses the Newbern Road and runs thence with 
said road to some pointers at the foot of the West School-house path, not 
far from said School-house (formerly) but now known as Pott's Corner, south 
side of said path, Lovey Fields's corner containing 65 acres more or less.

Joseph D. and Norma F. Edwards his wife of New Hanover County, NC parties of 
the first part and Jasper M. and Viola Potts his wife of Wayne County, NC 
parties of the second part. For $1,300, land in Wayne County and bounded as 
follows:

Beginning at the center of Goldsboro Road at Marshy Branch with various 
metes and bounds containing 62 acres more or less, and known as the Will 
Tract.

When Jasper Potts died his property was sold. It bordered the south side of 
the eastern end of Potts road intersection with Genoa road and south along 
Genoa road down and up the hill half way to the intersection of Genoa and 
Outlaw roads.

Yeserday's Rain Storm Damages Lots of Property

The home of Mr. Jasper Potts, the family consisting of father, mother and 
two children, with Mr. Potts sick abed and his attending physician with him 
in the house when the storm broke, was completely demolished with the 
exception of the room in which he was abed, in which his family had 
gathered. Mr. Potts and his family were removed to the home of his brother, 
where they are being cared for near Genoa.
