L. Grant Farm at Old Waynesboro State of North Carolina Wayne County Whereas in a Special Proceeding in the Superior Court of said Wayne County entitled John Hiram Grant and others, to the Court, Ex parte, an order was entered on the 4th day of November, 1922, and approved by F. A. Daniels, Resident Judge, on said date, appointing the undersigned Commissioner and authorizing, empowering and directing him to convey the lands hereinafter described in fee simple to A. H. Edgerton upon his paying cash and executing notes and mortgage or deed of trust to Louis E. Grant, Trustee for the devisees and heirs of Hiram L. Grant, deceased, in accordance with said order, in the sum of $23,660.00; and Whereas, the conditions of the said order have been complied with by said A. H. Edgerton. Now, therefore, THIS DEED, made this the 7th day of November, 1922, by and between C. E. Wilkins, Commissioner, party of the first part, and A. H. Edgerton, party of the second part, both of the County and state aforesaid. A certain tract of land lying in Goldsboro Township, Wayne County, NC, adjoining the lands of H. Weil & Bros. and others and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at an iron stake on the Old Carolina Railroad right of way, H. Weil & Bros. corner; Runs thence in a southeasterly direction along the said railroad right of way 1283.7 feet to an iron stake in said right of way where the Empire Manufacturing Company lumber road crosses the same; Thence in the same general direction across said lumber road and along said Old Carolina Railroad 1028 feet to an iron stake; Then S 29 degrees 46 minutes W 1910.5 feet to an iron stake in or near a ditch or canal; Then along said ditch or canal N 89 23 W 529 feet to a stake; Then S 69 31 W 42.6 feet to a stake, Thompson's line; Then N 39 10 W along Thompson's line 1224.7 feet to a stake; Then S 63 34 W 98.2 feet to Neuse River; Then up the Neuse River around a large bend as it meanders about 4000 feet to a stake at the mouth of a branch, H. Weil & Bros. corner on said river; Then up and along said branch or ditch and the Weil line as it meanders about 1480 feet to a stake at bend of ditch, old man hole; Then N 24 12 E 155.9 feet to a stake; Then N. 28 57 E. 176.6 feet to a stake; Then N. 31 30 E 399.5 feet to railroad right of way; To the beginning. H. Edgerton of Wayne County, NC party of the second part. Wayne County, Goldsboro Township, containing 135 2/10 acres known as the H. L. Grant Farm at old Waynesboro. Whereas C. E. Wilkins, Commissioner, has this day executed and ready for delivery a deed conveying the said tract of land to A. H.
