David Everitt to Wm. M. Puryear
Lots 2 and 12
Wayne County Deed Book 21, p 307-308

This Indenture made this 18th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and forty six between David Everitt of the Village of Everettsville 
of the State of North Carolina and Wayne County of the one part and Wm. M. 
Puryear of the Village, County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth 
that the said David B. Everitt for and in consideration of the sum of twelve 
dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid by the said Wm. M. Puryear the 
receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and by 
these presents doth bargain sell alien enfeof and convey unto the said Wm. M. 
Puryear his heirs and assigns forever all of two certain lots or parcels of land 
situate lying and being in the aforesaid Village of Everittsville in said county 
as known in the plan of the said Village as No’s 2 and 12 to have and to hold the 
above bargained lots or parcels of land with all and singular the improvements 
consisting of buildings fences ways woods water courses and minerals to the same 
belonging or in any wise appertaining and I the said David B. Everitt by their 
presents obligate and bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to 
warrant and ever to defend the right and title to the above lots and parcels of 
land unto the said Wm. M. Puryear his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of 
all rents claims or demands of me my heirs executors administrators and every 
other person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and seal the day and date first above written.

Wayne County May Term 1849
Then was the above land of sale from David B. Everitt to Wm. M. Puryear duly 
proved in open court by the oath of Benajah Herring a subscribing witness ordered 
that it be registered.
