Wayne County, NC - Jesse Ginn to George W. Thompson, 1830

This Indenture made the 31 day of January one thousand eight hundred 
and thirty eight between JESSE GINN of the county of Wayne and state of 
North Carolina of the one part and GEORGE WASHINGTON THOMPSON of the 
county and state aforesaid of the other part witnisseth (sic) that the 
said JESSE GINN for and in consideration of the sum of twenty-five 
dollars to him in hand paid by the said GEORGE W. THOMPSON before the 
executing these presents the receipt and payment whereof is hereby 
acknowledge hath bargained sold and by these presents doth bargain sale 
aline enforce and convey unto the said GEORGE W THOMPSON his heirs and 
assigns one certain tract of land during his said GINNS natural life 
time and no longer situate lying and being in the aforesaid county of 
Wayne and on the east side of Beaver Dam Swamp beginning at a stake in 
said swamp Whitleys corner and runs with Whitleys line (gives 
description of lands location) containing forty eight acres and one rod 
and thirty pole be the same more or less to have and to hold the above 
bargained premises with all the improvements thereunto belonging or in 
any wise appertaining during my natural life and I the said JESSE GINN 
do hereby for myself warrant and will ever defend the right and title 
to the said bargained premises during my natural life but no longer 
unto the said GEORGE W THOMPSON his heirs or assigns free and clear of 
all encumbrance of myself and every other person or persons whatsoever. 
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and 
date first above written signed sealed and delivered in presence of us.
