Mortgage deed made 3 Sep 1880 between H. L. and Lizzie G. Grant and the North 
Carolina State Life Insurance Company, for $2500, convey and assigns in fee 
simple land lying in Wayne County adjacent to a slogh on the bank of the Neuse 
River north to the NC railroad track, then with said railroad to where the 
county road crosses the railroad, then with the county road to the river, then 
along the road to the beginning containing about 160 acres part of the old town 
of Waynesboro and was conveyed to said Grant by H. Weil & Bros. in 1867. 
Satisfied/Cancelled Sep 17, 1889.
