Indenture made February 17, 1787 between Samuel Herring of Wayne and Daniel 
Parker and wife Nancy Parker both of Duplin of the one part and William 
Whitfield of the other part, for 80 pounds land in Wayne on the east side of 
Sleepy Creek adjacent to William Whitfield containing 237 acres being the 
land that William Jones dec'd was possessed as heir to John Jones dec'd.
Another tract of 177 acres being part of a patent granted to William Jones 
for 200 acres bearing date 13 Sep 1785.
Another tract containing 60 acres adjacent to Jones corner land that fell to 
William Jones by death of his father John Jones being land whereon Jean 
Jones now liveth.
One other tract containing 157 acres adjacent to his corner to a pine in 
Micajah Casey's line to Casey's corner.
Witnesses: Joel Sasser, Joseph Whitfield and Lewis Graddy
