Indenture made November 22, 1811 between Simon Herring Sr and Simon Herring 
both of Wayne, in consideration of the love good will and affection which he 
hath and do bear unto my son the said Simon Herring have and by these 
presents do grant land in Wayne for $5 all the lands and tenements which I 
now own lying in Wayne and Duplin counties including the place whereon I 
live reserving unto myself the use and occupancy of all and every part and 
parcel of the aforesaid premises during my natural life. Further the use of 
the whole after my death to my beloved wife Rachel as long as she remains my 
widow.
