Smith and wife Amelia A. to C.J. Hudson Witnesseth: That the said John R. Smith and wife Amelia A. for and in consideration of Five hundred dollars to them paid have bargained and sold and by these presents do convey unto the said C.J. Hudson and his heirs a certain tract of land situated in said county bounded as follows: Beginning at a pine Cox's corner and runs N88E 225poles to a stake Wm. R. Parker's corner then N1/2 East 30poles to stake in said Parker's line then N72&1/2W 122 poles to a black gum and dead oak then N1/2W 126 poles to a stake by Theophiles Holmes tar trough then N87W104 poles to a dead persimmon tree then S55 poles to a small pine (down) in Horse Swamp pocosin then S144 poles to the beginning containing 184 &1/2 acres more or less. To have and hold the above granted premises together with all and singular the improvements thereon to the said C.J. Hudson his heirs and assigns and the said John R. Smith and wife Amelia A. do covenant to and with the said C.J. Hudson that they are seized in fee of said premises and have right to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free from all encumbrances and that they will warrant, defend the said title to the same to the said C.J.
