Hudson and his wife Mary Hudson of Wayne County and State of NC to James Warrick of Wayne county and state of NC. Witnesseth: That said C.J. Hudson and wife Mary in consideration of eighteen bales of lint cotton to them paid by James Warrick, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said James Warrick and his heirs a tract of land in Wayne county State of NC adjoining the lands of Job Warrick, William B. Hood Sr., Silas Grantham and others bounded as follows viz: beginning at a red oak stump and runs N111[10]E 140 poles to a small pine then S88W 176 poles to a stake then S2W 64 poles to a pine S88W 176 poles to a stake then S2W64 poles to a pine S88E 28 poles to the beginning containing one hundred and eleven acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all privileges and apertures thereto belonging to said James Warrick and his heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof and the said C.J. Hudson and wife Mary that they are seized of said premises in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free from all encumbrances and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said C.J. Hudson and wife Mary have hereto set their hands and seals this day and year above written. Hudson and his wife Mary Hudson the granter named in the foregoing deed who acknowledged the due execution thereof by them (_____________) act and deed and therefore the said Mary Hudson being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband trusting her for consent to the execution of said deed she on such here examination desirous that she (__________)of the same freely of her own will an accord and without any form or undue influence of her said husband and other person and does still voluntarily assent thereto and hereby relinquished her right of dower in said lands.
