Hudson and wife Etta Hudson parties of the first part of Wayne County State of North Carolina to Mary Jane Hudson wife of C.J. Hudson party of the second part of Wayne County State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for four hundred and thirty five dollars to them paid by said part of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by those presents do bargain, sell and convey to said party of the second part her heirs, executors, administrators and assigns a tract of land in Wayne County state of North Carolina adjoining the lands bounded as follows viz: the following describes land and premises lying and being in the county of Wayne in said state in Grantham township containing two hundred acres more or less adjoining the lands of Julius W. Rayner, Henry Holmes and hers of D.F.(?) Jordan, being ½ interest in the lands on which the late Richard Rayner resided at the time of his death the same being the lands conveyed by deed to the said W.J. Hudson by deed registered in Book 69 page 331 of the Register of deeds office in Wayne county. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to party of the second part Mary Hudson and her heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof And the said parties of the first covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free from all encumbrances and that they will warrant and defend the said title to same against the claim of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. W.J. Hudson and Etta Hudson his wife personally appeared before me this day acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed and the said Etta Hudson being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
