Hudson and wife Mary and Council Warrick Source: www.famillysearch.org Wayne Deed Records 1879 Image 667 of 728 Microfilm of Volume 44 page 497 State of North Carolina Wayne County, This indenture made and entered into this 29th day of March A.D. 1877 by and between C.J. Hudson and wife Mary Hudson of Wayne County of the first part and Council Warrick of Wayne county of the second part witnessed that the said parties of the second part in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and twenty five dollars paid by the party of the second part to the parties of the second{?] before signing and sealing of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledge the said parties of the first part have sold unto the said part of the second part a tract or parcel of land situated in Wayne County in said state adjoining the land of Job Warrick, D.H. Bridgers and others and bounded and described as follows viz: beginning at a small pine on the back line of the original track and runs E112poles to a stake, then N1W 126poles to a stake then N89W 104poles to a persimmon tree then near south to a small pine thence to the first station containing eighty seven (87) acres more or less. To have and to hold the same unto the said parties of the second part his heirs and assigns in fee simple and the said parties of the first part further agrees that they are lawfully seized of the same and has full power and right to convey the same. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals Date above. Yelverton Judge of Probate Court for said county personally appeared C.J. Hudson and wife Mary Hudson persons {------------} in and who signed the annexed conveyance and severally acknowledged the due execution thereof for purpose therein expressed and upon the said Mary Hudson being by me privately examined apart from her said husband touching her voluntary consent thereto acknowledge that she executed the same freely and without fear or compulsion of her said husband and do now voluntarily assent thereto and hereby relinquish her right of dower in said land.
