   This indenture made the 26th day of Feb. 1881 between C.J. Hudson and his 
wife Mary Hudson of the first part and Daniel Brock of the second part all 
of the county of Wayne.  Witnessed that for and inconsideration of the sum 
of seven thousand lbs. of cotton to them in hand paid by the party of the 
second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold 
and conveyed and the said C.J. Hudson and his wife Mary Hudson do by these 
presents bargain, sell and convey unto the said Daniel Brock and his heirs a 
certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county and 
state aforesaid between Falling creek and Horse Swamp adjoining the lands of 
C.J. Hudson, Act Grantham and others and bounded as follows beginning at a 
pine Cox's corner and runs N86E 117poles to a pine then S82E 83poles to a 
stake then E27poles to a stake then N10E 30poles to a stake then N70 ½ W 122 
poles to a stake then W112 poles to a small pine then S70poles to the 
beginning containing eighty-seven acres more or less.  To have and to hold 
the said land and premises with all the privileges to the said Daniel Brock 
and his heirs and assigns in fee simple and the said parties of the first 
part agree to forever warrant and defend the title to the above described 
land to the said Daniel Brock his heirs and assigns forever.  In withness 
whereof we have hereto set our hand and seal the day and year above written.

	I W.T. Yelverton CofC of Wayne County do hereby certify that C.J. 
Hudson and Mary Hudson his  wife personally appeared before me this day and 
acknowledged the due execution of the (amend) deed and the said Mary Hudson 
begin by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband 
touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the 
same freely and voluntarily without fear, compulsion of her said husband or 
any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.  Let 
the same with this certificate be registered.  Given under my hand this 26 
day of Feby 1881
