GRANTHAM North Carolina Wayne County: This deed made this the 24th day of Dec. 1904, between Jesse H. Huggins, Bessie A. Huggins, J. M. Huggins and Vivian M. Huggins, his wife, W. H. Huggins, Jr. and Ella J. Hugins, his wife, all of the County of Sampson, in said State, R. F. Huggins and Beatrice G, Huggins, his wife, of Colleton County, S. C. and C. F. Thomas and Sudie H. Thomas, his wife, of Richmond Co., N. C. parties of the first part, and B. B. Grantham, of said Wayne County of said 2dpart, Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part for & in consideration of the sum of $260.00, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold & by these present do convey unto said party of the second part, their heirs and assigns, all the right title & interest of said parties of the first part being an undivided 1/20 in & to the following tract of land in Grantham Township, Wayne Co. known as the Elizabeth Cogdell land, & bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake D. A. Cogdell's corner, a public road, & runs with the said Cogdell's line N 6 1/2 E 556 1/2 poles to the mouth of Bushy Branch in run of Falling Creek, then down said run to a blackgum below the mouth of Mill Branch: then S 10 W 89 poles to run of Mill branch about 50 yards below the old mill dam at a sweet gum stump, then up the run of the sd. branch to mouth of Poly bridge branch, then up said branch to a stake, then then S 85 W 77 poles to a pine, then S 15 W 43 poles to a pine, then same course 105 poles to 2 pines then N 7 E 40 poles to a maple (down), then N 77 W 70 poles to a lightwood stump, then N22 E 10 poles to a stake on road, then said road to the beginning, containing 732 acres, more or less. To have & to hold the same unto the said party of the 2d part & his heirs forever. And the said parties of the first part, fro themselves & their heirs do covenant with the party of the 2nd part his heirs & assigns that they are seized in fee of said interest in said land, that the same are free from incumbrances & that they will warrant & defend the title to the same against the claims of all persons.
