Know all men by these presents that I John McKINNE of the place aforesaid for 
and in consideration of the Sum of Three Hundred and Eighteen dollars to me in 
hand paid by Daniel KORNEGAY, To --- into effect a certain clause of the Last 
Will and Testament of Gen'l. James RHODES dec'd. in behalf of Disey RHODES, a 
minor orphan of his brother William RHODES dec'd the receipt and payment is 
hereby acknowledged and considered to be therewith fully satisfied consented 
and paid have bargained sold & delivered unto the said KORNEGAY for the --- 
and purpose aforesaid, a negro girl slave about the age of Eleven years named 
CHARLOT and of the said John McKINNE do hereby Bond and Oblige myself my 
heirs exer's and admr's to Warrant secure forever defend the aforesaid negor 
girl to the said KORNEGAY & his heirs for the above purpose from and against 
the Just and Lawful Claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever.
In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventeenth day 
of May in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred Fifteen (1815).

There was the written Bill of Sale from John McKINNE to Daniel KORNEGAY & 
Dicey RHODES. Acknowledged in Open Court and Ordered that the same to be 
Registered.
