Wayne County, NC - Jesse Langston to Temperance Langston, 1806 ~~~~~~~~~~ North Carolina Wayne County Know all men by these presents that we JESSE LANGSTON and TEMPERANCE LANGSTON for and in consideration the sum of fifty three & half Dollars and eight pence to us in hand paid the hereof we do hereby acknowledged we have Bargained and sold the Sixth part of a negro girl By the name of EASTER which fell to us by heirship from the estate of LAURENA DAUGHTERY, Dec'd The estate whereof we have Bargained and Sold the said part of the said girl to ZILPHA & POLLY DAUGHTERY our Daughters and we do hearby Acknowledge ourselves fully Satisfyed (sic) for the said Girl EASTER as for our Selves we Defend the said six part of said negro to ZILPHA and POLLY DAUGHTERY from us and our Heirs the usets (sic) whereof we have hereunto set our hands and fixed our seals this 12th Day of May 1806.
