Wayne County, NC - Deed of Lofley, Daniel to Sayers, Wm Smith-1795

This Indenture made the 4th day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety five between Daniel Loftley of the County
of Wayne and state of North Carolina of the one part planter, and William
Smith Sayres of the county & state aforesd of the other part (Doctor)
witness that the said Daniel Lofley for and in consideration of the sum of
seven pounds four shillings current money to him in hand paid by the sd
William S Sayres, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, that I am
therewith fully satisfyed contented and paid have given granted bargained
and sold and by there presents do fully & absolutely give grant bargain &
sell convey and confirm assign and set over unto the sd William S Sayres 
his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate 
lying and being in the county & state aforesaid on the North side of the 
slough, beginning at four small black gums growing from a stump on the run 
of the slough in the patent line and runs with said line N 21 W 34 pole to 
the dividing corner between sd Lofley & Sayres, then with the dividing 
line N 43 W 44 pole to a black gum in a small branch, then down the branch 
as it meanders to the mouth where it empties into the run of the slough, 
then down the various courses of the run of the slough to the beginning, 
containing five acres and three quarters be the same more or less, being 
part of a patent taken up by John Elliot, to have and to hold the aforesd 
track or acreage of land with the appurtenances & every part thereof unto 
the sd William S Sayres his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper 
use benefit and ____ of him the sd Sayres his heirs and assigns forever, and 
the sd Daniel Lofley for myself my heirs exors adms & assigns, will and 
shall forever defend & warrant the aforesd land and premises from the 
lawful claim of any manner of person or persons to him the sd William S 
Sayres his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof I the sd Daniel 
Lofley have hereunto set my hadn and affixed my seal the day and year 
above written.
