W. Collier, Bright Best and Wm. D. Cobb were directed by the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions at November Term 1842 to divide the land of John McKinne among the lawful heirs of John McKinne and on 17 Dec 1842 presented their findings to the court. A summary of the division follows (see images for details) Lot No 1 - drawn by Robert McKinne beginning at a maple on the run of Carraway's Creek in George W. Collier's line and on the south side of the Cypress Pond to a stake on the north side of Poplar Branch at the west end of the Mill Dam to the run of Carraway's Creek about 60 yards above the Mill house and containing 72 3/4 acres valued at $250. Lot No 2 - drawn by Hepsey Feutrel beginning at a stake at the west end of the Mill Dam and runs with Robert McKinne's line to a stake on the north side of Poplar Branch his corner in the back line to the run of Carraway's Creek in the Mill pond to a stake about 60 yards above the Mill house then north to the Mill dam and containing 72 3/4 acres valued at $200. Lot No 3 - drawn by Sarah McKinne on the run of Carraway's Creek in the Mill pond Hepsey's corner to the back line her other corner to a pine near the head of Short Branch to a pine on the north side of sd branch near Wm Carraway's Spring the old Stooping pine corner to the run of Carraway's Creek and containng 72 3/4 acres valued at $200. Lot No 4 - drawn by David McKinne beginning at a red oak George W. Collier's and James Slocumb's corner on the north east side of the marsh to a stake in the old road to George Collier's line at his cotton patch new Ground to a maple his corner near his ditch and containing 93 acres valued at $375. Lot No 5 - alloted to Mary McKinne beginning at a red oak Dagid McKinne's begining tree south to the old road David's corner with the south end of said road to two post oaks George W.
