Wayne County, NC - Land Grant, Rubin Mitchell, 1782 ----¤¤¤---- State of North Carolina to Rubin Mitchell 1782 To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting KNOW YE That we for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Shillings for every Hundred Acres hereby Granted paid unto our Treasury by RUBIN MITCHELL have Given and Granted unto the said RUBIN MITCHELL a Tract of Land containing One Hundred Acres, lying and being in our County of Wayne on the North side of Norhonta Begining at his own old corner a pine in LORD GRANVILLES and JAMES LANGLEYS line and runs along his line North eighty two poles to the corner a red oak. Course continued forty Poles to a Lightwood Stake thence West One Hundred and thirty one poles to a pine thence South One hundred and twenty two poles to a pine in GRANVILLES line thence with the same to the begining. As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all the woods, waters, mines, minerals Heradements and appurtances to the said Land belonging or appertaining: To Hereto the said RUBIN MITCHELL his heirs and offsprings for ever. Yielding and Paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct. Provide always that the said RUBIN MITCHELL shall cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of our said county of Wayne within Twelve Months from the date hereof, otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In Testimony whereof, we have caused our Great Seals to hereunto affixed.
