Nevill to Thomas W. Pridgen Tract adjoining the village Wayne County Deed Book 22, p 577-578 This Indenture made and entered into on the (21st) twenty first day of May one thousand eight hundred and fifty three between Jesse P. Nevell of the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina of the first part and Thomas W. Pridgen of the same county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jesse Nevell for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and sixty three dollars to him in hand paid by him the said Thomas W. Pridgen at the time of executing these presents the recp’t whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained granted sold conveyed aliened confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell convey alien and confirm unto the said Thomas W Pridgen his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina situated and lying on the waters of Poplar and Juniper branch and bounded by the land of Geo. W. Collier, David B. Everitt, the said Jesse P. Nevell and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake near the Presbyterian Church in Everittsville and runs north 66 east 266 poles to the fork of Poplar and (marked out) branch, thence down Poplar branch as it meanders with G. W. Colliers line to where Juniper and Poplar branches intersect with each other, thence south 60 west 17 poles to a small pine and two forked dogwood trees, thence south 34 east 48 poles to a lightwood stump Dees corner, thence south 15 east 72 poles to the Mill Road, thence south 62 west 34 poles, thence south 54 west 25 poles John Everitts fence, then south 10 ¾ east 11 ½ poles to the line of the Presbyterian Church lot, then around the said lot to the beginning containing one hundred and twelve acres more or less to have and to hold said land and premises and all and singular the tenements hereditaments ways waters mines and minerals privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Thomas W. Pridgen his heirs and assigns forever and the said Jesse P. Nevell and for myself my heirs and assigns do covenant and agree with the said Thomas W. Pridgen his heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the same against the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever.
