Wayne County, NC - Joab Newsom to Norfleet Newsom, 1819 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ North Carolina Wayne County This thirteenth day of May in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Nineteen I JOAB NEWSOM for the love good will and affection that I do bear to my Son NORFLEET NEWSOM do give to the said NORFLEET NEWSOM his and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the west side of Basses Swamp, Beginning at JACOB FULGHUM'S corner in Basses Swamp runs west two hundred poll to a pine thence south three hundred thirty seven poll to a black jack then east to JESSE BOGUES corner a post oak then with said BOGUES line to said Basses Swamp to two black gums then down the said swamp to the beginning containing three hundred and fifty five (355) acres be it the same more or less,and I the said JOAB NEWSOM my heirs and assigns do and will forever warrant and defend the said above mentioned land to the said NORFLEET NEWSOM his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of any person or persons whatever.
