Now know all men by these presents that I the said Willis Pipkin admr as aforesaid by virtue of said order do bargain and sell unto Geo. C. Moses the said Negro boy for and in consideration of two hundred and fifty dollars and I the said Willis Pipkin do warrant the title of said Negro boy Alfred unto the said Geo. C. Moses as admr and no further. Willis Pipkin admr of Jesse Pipkin deceased 17 May 1853 Test Wm. B. Edmundson Wayne County May Term 1853 Then was the within Bill of Sale from Willis Pipkin admr of Jesse Pipkin to George C. Moses duly proven in open court by the oath of W. B. Edmundson a subscribing witness and ordered to be registered. Jno. A. Green Clk State of North Carolina Wayne County Whereas by virtue of an order of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for the county aforesaid made at the February Term 1853. Willis Pipkin admr of Jesse Pipkin deceased was authorized to sell the Negro slaves of Jesse Pipkin deceased and whereas the said Willis Pipkin Admr aforesaid did on the fifth day of April 1853 after giving the notice required in said order expose to public sale said Negroes at the Court house in said county when George C. Moses became the purchaser at the highest bid for Negro fellow Allan about thirty eight years, Netty woman about twenty eight and her two youngest children Allan and Katherine for the sum of eighteen hundred and fifty four dollars. Now know all men by these presents that I Willis Pipkin admr aforesaid for and in the sum of eighteen hundred and fifty four dollars secured to be paid by the said George C. Moses have bargained sold and delivered unto the said George C. Moses the above named Negro slaves and I the said Willis Pipkin do warrant and defend the title of said Negro slaves to him the said George C. Moses as Administrator and no further this April 5th 1853. Willis Pipkin admr of Jesse Pipkin deceased Wm.
