Rec'd of Wm B. Edmundson twenty eight hundred dollars in full for the 
purchase of ten Negroe slaves as follows: Margaret about 16 years old, 
Hannah about 35 years old and five children as follows: Esther about 15 
years old, Patty about 13 years old, David about 9 years old, Pleasant about 
6 years old and a baby named Kate about 2 months old.

The above lot of Negroes was purchased by me of Charles T Sanders of 
Newsbern also one lot purchased by me of John Blackwell of Newbern as 
follows: Negro woman Sylvia about 55 years old, Negro boy Mark about 16 
years old, Negro boy Mars about 13 years old.

The receipt and title of said Negroes I warrant and defend against the 
claims of all persons.

In witness whereof I here unto set my hand seal this 28th day of October 
1845 in presence of Jesse Pipkin and John K Nunn

Then was the above bill of sale from Elisha Pipkin to Wm B Edmundson duly 
proved in open court by the oath of Jesse Pipkin a subscribing witness 
thereto and ordered to be registered.
