Written: 1924-26

Wayne County, NC Register of Deeds, Book 169, page 315 describes the 
property as follows:

1st Tract: At stake on New Bern Road, corner of Lot No. 2, Lot No. 5, 
containing 56 3/4 acres being the lot of land conveyed to Newman Potts Sr. 
by deed of Joel S. Fields and wife Lou Fields, dated March 9th, 1901 and 
recorded in Bk 78, pg 442. (Previously owned by Susan Potts Jones).

2nd Tract: Adjacent to a stake on New Bern Road, corner of Lot No. 2, in the 
division of the lands of Newman Potts, deceased, corner Lot No. 4 and 
containing 25 acres and being the land conveyed to said J. A. Fields and 
wife by deed of William Potts and wife recorded in the Register of Deeds in 
Bk 62 pg 488.

3rd Tract: Adjacent to a stake on New Bern Road, corner Lot No. 1, in the 
division of the lands of Newman Potts, deceased, bridge across a ditch, 
corner Lot No. 4, Lot No. 3 and containing 55 1/2 acres and being the land 
conveyed to J. A. Fields by William Lewis and wife, Minnie Potts Lewis, of 
date December 7, 1893 and recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds in 
Bk 68, pg 126. Excepting However: From the operation of this Deed 27 acres 
within said boundary which was conveyed by J. A. Fields and wife to Joseph 
Tillman by Deed of date November 18, 1894, Bk 68 pg 488. Adjacent to a 
stake, private path.

4th Tract: Adjacent to a stake on New Bern Road, corner Lot No. 6, Lot No. 
4, containing 15 3/4 acres allotted to Newman Potts in the division of the 
land of Julia Elizabeth Potts, deceased, Bk 54 pg 44.

Wayne County, NC Register of Deeds, Book 220, page 120 describes the 
property as follows:

"All that certain tract of land containing one hundred sixty-nine (169) 
acres, more or less, known as the 'Potts Place', in Brogden Township, Wayne 
County, NC, located on the old Goldsboro-Kenansville Road [Genoa Rd today] 
seven (7) miles south of Goldsboro, and now in the possession of Newman 
Potts bounded on the north by lands of G. H. Edwards, Joel Fields and B. B. 
Jones Estate's land; on the east by lands of Kirby Smith and Luby Vinson; on 
the south by lands of Jasper Potts and Joel Fields; on the west by lands of 
L. D. Edwards. Said tract of land is particularly described according to a 
plan prepared by Louis Godwin, Registered Surveyor, on the 25th day of 
October, 1926. Copy of plat now being on file with The Federal Land Bank of 
Columbia, as Agent of the Land Bank Commissioners".
