Pridgen to David Jones Lot 16 Wayne County Deed Book 21, p 187-188 This Indenture made this 18th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight between Thomas W. Pridgen of the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina of the one part and David Jones of the county of Lenoir and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas W. Pridgen for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighty one dollars and twenty five cents to him in hand paid by the said David Jones at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and hath bargained sold alien enfeof confirmed and conveyed unto the said David Jones his heirs and assigns forever all of one Lot of land in the Village called Everittsville on the south side of Neuse River in the county of Wayne and on the east side of the Wilmington and Raleigh Rail Road and known in the plan of said Village as lot no. 16 on the west side of West Street containing one acre to have and to hold the above bargained premises with all and singular the building, improvements ways woods waters mines and minerals appurtenances, privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and I the said Thomas W. Pridgen do by these presents obligate and bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the right and title to the above bargained premises unto the said David Jones his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all demands rights titles dowers of me myself my heirs executors and every other person or persons whatsoever.
