Pridgen to William J. Hall Near the Village of Everittsville Deed Book 25, p 569-570 This Indenture made and entered into this the second day of January eighteen hundred and fifty eight between Thomas W. Pridgen of the State of North Carolina and county of Wayne of the first part and William J. Hall of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas W. Pridgen for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and forty eight dollars to him in hand paid by the said Wm J. Hall at or before the executing of these presents have given granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and convey to the said Wm J. Hall his heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land in the county of Wayne and state aforesaid on the south side of Neuse River near the Village of Everittsville adjoining the lands of George W. Collier, David B. Everitt and William H. Watson and bounded as follows, viz: beginning at a stake near the north corner of the Presbyterian Church and runs north sixty six east two hundred and sixty six poles to the poplar branch a pine corner then down said branch as it meanders to the fork of Poplar and Juniper branches then south sixty west seventeen poles to a small pine and two forked dogwoods then south thirty four east forty eight poles to a lightwood stump the Deer corner then south fifteen east seventy two poles to a mill road then south sixty two west thirty four poles then south fifty four west twenty five poles to John Everitts fence then south ten and three fourths east eleven and a half poles then east fifteen poles then to the beginning containing one hundred and twelve acres the same more or less. To have and to hold the said land and premises with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said William J. Hall his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use and behoof in fee simple forever free from the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatever. And the said Thos. W. Pridgen doth for himself and his heirs and assigns further warrant and forever defend the said land and premises unto him the said William J. Hall his heirs and assigns. In testimony whereof the said Thomas W. Pridgen doth hereunto set his hand and affix his seal the day and date first above written. Thomas W.
