SUPERIOR COURT NEW BERN DISTRICT - March Term 1791 - to Sheriff of Wayne County - in case JAMES SASSER against SAMUEL BLYTHE - that the verdict be set aside and set for trial at next term - 19 Sept next SILAS COOKE, Sheriff 3. 4 July 1782 - Dobbs County - It being certified unto WILLIAM ORMOND, JOHN McKINIE, ETHELDRED RUFFIN, Justices --- LEWIS GOODMAN late of Dobbs had no will --- THOMAS GRAY, esq and HARRY GOODMAN made application, made Bond with ROBERT WHITY, DANIEL WAIT to be administrators 4. New Bern District Court - March Term - JAMES SASSER , guardian vs SAMUEL BLYTH JOHN SASSER the elder on 7 April 1774 deeded land to his son, JOHN SASSER, JR. JOHN SASSER JUNIOR died in 1776 interstate with no issue. His elder brother, Wm SASSER was still living but he died instate in 1781 leaving one son, JAMES, an infant who was then 5 years old. Jury found a deed from JOHN SASSER the elder to MARY BLYTH, his daughter. FOLDER IV 1. New Bern District Court - Sept 1796 - be it remembered that EDITH SASSER, guardian of JAMES SASSER - went to court in May 1782 - it appears the BLYTH'S were in possession of the land and JAMES wanted it back - JAMES appears to have won.
