Indenture made August 19, 1813 between William Smith High Sheriff of Wayne 
and Smithson Cox of Wayne, that the court on March 10, 1813 directed to the 
Sheriff to expose to sell the lands belonging to the heirs of Thomas Cox 
lying on the south side of Neuse River on the Home Branch adjacent to 
Smithson Cox line to satisfy debts to Silas Hollowell, Micajah Cox, John 
Killingsworth and William Smith. On May 14, 1813 Smithson Cox appeared and 
bid for the same the sum of one pound twelve shillings and six pence per 
acre and was the confirmed owner of the land containing 139 acres.
