Wayne County, NC – Hezekiah & Charlotte Thomas to Waitman Thompson, 1827

This Indenture made this 27th of Dec. in the year of our Lord 1827
Between HEZEKIAH THOMAS & his wife CHARLOTTE THOMAS of
the County of Wayne & State of North Carolina of the one part and
WAITMAN THOMPSON of the County & State aforesaid of the other part
Witnesseth that the said HEZEKIAH THOMAS & CHARLOTTE THOMAS
his wife for and in consideration the sum of ninety dollars to us in 
hand paid by the said WAITMAN THOMPSON the receipt whereof we
do hereby acknowledge ourselves therewith satisfied & have given 
granted & sold unto the said WAITMAN THOMPSON his heirs & asgns
(sic) forever a certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being
in the County aforesaid & on the west side of Stony Creek (gives
description, mentions AVY THOMPSON corner, containing Eighteen
Acres more or less.) It being all the land that fell to us as heirs of 
PETER THOMPSON dec'd To Have and to Hold the aforesaid tract of
land with the appurtenances thereon unto the said WAITMAN
THOMPSON his heirs & asgns (sic) forever free & clear from the
lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatever In witness
whereof we the said HEZEKIAH THOMAS & CHARLOTTE THOMAS
have hereunto Set our hand & seals the day & year above written
