To all people to whom these presents Shall Come I Nancy Rooks of the State
of North Carolina & County of Wayne Sends Greeting Know ye that I the Sd
Nancy Rooks for & in consideration of the natural love & affection which I
have & beane unto my beloved Son Joseph Rooks of the Same State & County
aforsaid & for de__ other Good Causes & Considerations we hereunto moving
have Given & Granted & by these presents do Give & Grant unto the Said
Joseph Rooks all & Singular the Goods & Chattels following one bed &
furniture one Cow one Sow & five pigs fifteen plates Six boles one dish Six
ChairsTwo pots one Skillet one Set Cups & Saucers four hundred pounds of
Bacon three Barrels Corn two & a half bushels of Wheete) ____ the use of
the Same to my Self during my natural life to have hold & Injoy all &
Singular the goods Chattels & personal estate aforsaid reserving as forsaid
the use of the Same to my Self during my natural life unto the Sd Joseph
Rooks his executors admrs & assigns forever and I the Sd Nancy forever
defend by these presents In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand &
Seal Waynsboro the 4th day of March 1814

unto my beloved Son Jobe Rooks of the Same State & County aforsaid & for
devirse other Good Causes & Considerations whereas to moving have given &
granted & by these presents do Give & Grante unto the Sd Job Rooks all &
Singular the goods & Chattels following one bed & furniture one Cow & Calf
one fow & four pigs one Trunk one table one dish one bason & half a dozen
Spoons reserving the use of the Same to my Self during my natural life to
have holde & Injoy all & Singular the Goods Chattels & personal estate

Aforsaid reserving the use of the Same during my natural life unto the Sd
Job Rooks his executors Admtrs & against all persons whatsoever Shall &
will warrante & forever defend by these present In witness whereof I have
hereunto Set my hand & Seal at waynsboro the 4th day of March 1814
