Everitt and Eli Murray Trustees Everittsville Presbyterian Church Lot # not given Wayne County Deed Book 22, p 267-268 This Indenture made this the 28th day November eighteen hundred and fifty between Jno. W. S. West of the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina of the one part and James McDuffie, Samuel Smith, Willis Hall, Jno. Everitt and Eli Murray Trustees elected by the congregation worshipping in the Everittsville Presbyterian Church all of the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jno. W. S. West for and in consideration of five dollars to him in hand paid by the said James McDuffie, Samuel Smith, Willis Hall, Jno. Everitt and Eli Murray Trustees at the time of executing these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold conveyed aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell convey aliened and confirm unto the said James McDuffie, Sam’l Smith, Willis Hall, Jno. Everitt and E. Murray Trustees and their successors in office for the use of the Everittsville Presbyterian Church a certain tract or parcel of land in the county of Wayne and State of N.C. situated as follows: adjoining the land of the said Jno. W. S. West on the east and south and bounded on the west by the street not named adjoining the Academy lot and bounded on the north by Collier Street containing one acre and whereon the said Presbyterian Church is now situated. To have and to hold the said land and premises and all and singular the tenements hereditaments woods ways waters mines minerals improvements privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to them the said James McDuffie, Samuel Smith, Willis Hall, Jno. Everitt and Eli Murray Trustees and their successors in office for the use of the Everittsville Presbyterian Church to them and their own proper use and behoof in fee simple forever. And the said Jno. W. S. West and his heirs and assigns all and singular the premises hereby conveyed to the said James McDuffie, Samuel Smith, Willis Hall, Jno. Everitt and E. Murray Trustees and their successors in office for the use of said Church Hall and will covenant and forever defend from the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever.
