E p. 110 (bottom) Conveyance A copy William WHITFIELD to Bryan WHITFELD 400 acres Knox County 1/2 of 400 acres Knox County 1/2 of 400 acres Rhea County North side Tennessee River To all people to whom these presents shall come, Greetings: know ye that I, William Whitfield of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the natural love goodwill and natural affection that I have and do bare (sic) unto my son Bryan Whitfield, and for other good causes and considerations have given and granted and do by these presents give and grant and make over unto him the said Bryan WHITFIELD his heirs and assigns forever the following mesuage tract, or parcel of land, to wit: One survey of four hundred acres granted to me the said William Whitfield the 11th day of July 1788, lying and being in the County of Knox in the Western Territory, lying on both sides of the North Fork Bull run that makes into Clinch River and below a former survey of said Whitfield. Beginning at a beach on the East side of the run of said creek and runs West 160 poles to white oke, then South 200 poles to a stake, then East 320 poles to a white oak; thence North 200 poles to a stake and then West 160 poles to the begining. And two hundred acres being the half of a four hundred acre survey granted..200 poles to a whiteoak, thence East 126 1/2 poles ; then south across the Patent 253 poles to a stake and from thence to the beginning. And four hundred and sixteen and one half acres lying on the North side of Tennessee in the Western Territory it being the one half of my one third part of a survey granted to Joseph GREEN, myself, and Needham WHITFIELD for 2500 acres containing in the whole one thousand and sixteen and one half acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises with all the improvements, priviledges, conveniences, or advantages....unto him the said Bryant Whitfield his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I the said William Whitfield have hereunto set my hand and afixed my seal this 31st day of March 1796. Wm. Whitfield.
