This Indenture made the 13th day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand and eight hundred and twenty one between James Woodard and Amy Woodard his wife of the State of North Carolina and County of Sampson of the one part and Joseph Everitt of the County of Wayne and State aforesaid of the other part Witness that the said James Woodard his wife for and in consideration of the sum of One thousand dollars to us in hand paid by him the said Joseph Everitt before the signing and delivery of other presents the receipt and payment is hereby acknowledged that we the said James Woodard and Amy Woodard his wife have bargained and sold unto him the said Joseph Everitt his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on the South Side of the Yellow Marsh Beginning at a Red Oak Andr Masseys Corner and runs with his line N75E 127 poles to a Pine in John Fortners line (now Rich Fortners) thence with his line SW 150 poles to a pine A. Masseys Corner thence with his line W100 poles to a pine (down) at the head of a Branch then with Everitts line N100 to the beginning containing one hundred and Six acres It being a Patent granted to Richard McKinne dated the 13th day of September 1798 To have and to hold the above said Land and premises with all singular the profits benefits and appurtenances there into belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Joseph Everitt his heirs and assigns forever free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever and we the said James Woodard and Amy Woodard his wife do by these presence promise and Agree to bind ourselves and heirs exec admins or assigns do warrant and forever defend the above mentioned Land and premises from or against the Lawful claim or claims of any manner of Person or persons whatsoever unto him the said Joseph Everitt his heirs Exct. Admins or assigns forever.
