Norwood News Argus - 6 Apr 1975 Republished by Wayne County Historical Association, 1979 Everittsville School House was moved to the Woodland Church yard. The Barbara McKinne house was moved to Mrs. T. E. Davis farm at Genoa. The Hall house was moved to 210 South William Street in Goldsboro. The Joe Everitt house was moved nearer the river, not far from the location of the Everitt Cemetery. The Collier house was moved to Goldsboro two doors north of St. Stephens Episcopal Church and has been torn down. Moving of Everittsville structures involved disassembly and loading board by board on wagons. Moore's home at Genoa came from the Joe Everitt house used as a hospital during the Civil War. The Whitfield home burned and the Hines home was razed. The Daniels and Cobb homes burned in 1876 and 1877. The Cobb smokehouse was moved to the J. R. Moore farm at Genoa. The Hollowell home was moved near Salem Church north of Goldsboro in the Belfast section. The smokehouse was moved to the H. Weil and Brothers farm. The Preacher Hooks home stands close to the McKinne home site. The Morrisey and Everitt homes burned. The Battle home was moved to the back of the Will Granger place and on to W. T. Best's farm. The outhouse and smokehouse were moved to the L. J. Moore farm. The privy stands on the J. R. Moore farm at Genoa. The Methodist Church was moved to Mount Olive in 1872.
