Wayne County, NC - Anna Maria (Rhodes) Hill Letters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mount Olive, North Carolina August 10th, 1870 Dear Needham, I received your letter about ten days ago and was glad to her from you, and also that you were well taken care of. My health has not been good this summer, but so as I can keep up. My faith is still in the Lord, and hope yours is also. I cannot express myself how bad I want to see you all, you are not out of my mind long at a time. What has become of Sister Sophia, is she living, why has she not written me? I wrote in my last to know if sister Knarky? Was living, you said nothing of her. Give my love to brother Jim and family, kiss little Hillery for me. Give my love to all the Sisters in the church who inquire after me and hope to meet them in heaven if not on earth. Love to Penny, Charles, Lizzie, have not had a line from them, also Rhodes and family. I shall ever remember him. Love to Allie and husband, spoke of coming out this fall, I should be glad to see them. Love to Arnold, Francis especially. Raise them up in fear of the Lord. Love to all the white family and would be so glad to see them. Little Annie, give my love to her. Robert sends much love to you all. We have a prospect of a very nice crop and expect to stay here two years if no longer. I have seen Council once since I have been back. He is living at Goldsboro and Will is living about Warsaw. He is married and doing well. Say to him if Betsy’s son Rhodes is living. We want him to come live with us this fall. Find out and let us know about him. Needham please send this to brother Bill so that he can write me about Rhodes, If he will come or not. Sisters are all well. I must bring my letter to a close. Love to all, hoping we may meet in heaven. You and brother Bill write soon. Your sister, Caroline HILL Mount Olive Wayne Co. N.
